the miles melt in shades of white

 

dark folds light into a promise of becoming

the unknown pleasure of a pain willed

the colour of now is fading

drowning in the shallows of ink remembered

omphalos

sliding beneath
a copper-tinged horizon
the sweet taste
of nacre
a well’s gaping lips
the sign of the cross
slowly traced
silence swells
the quiet noise
of relinquishment
simplicity
becomes time’s owner
