of a nightingale
folds back
the black
beauty unearthed
cytherean gift
a five-petalled coil
the sweet stigmata
of faith
sub rosa

I stride
into new amsterdam
and claim
the present

  2. I’ve read four times and each time, a different image reaches out to me but the strongest is the final image, claiming the present. Much enjoyed.
