Nowhere’s weight

December 14, 2011

Beckett's grave at Montparnasse cemetery, Paris

His name is
weighed down by marble
the wait for
the end to
in words polished
nowhere now
nowhen never.

(Samuel – from the Hebrew name Shemu’el, which could mean ‘name of God’ or ‘God has heard’…His name is…)

Flame

August 20, 2011

Passion oxygenated
caught between
layers of breath
heat sucked in
flame flat
vacuum blown
fabric pulled taut
time skin tight
movement accelerates
to the velocity of skin
then slows
to a sigh
of submission
condensed
on a lens.

..an end
to waking thought
night rides her down
she slips
in somnial streams
strands of dreams
blown to depth
her beauty curved
to the angle of water
mapped by the roaring echoes
of a sea shelled
(pulsing)
(flowing)
her body safe
wrapped in a figure of eight
henna-inked
crevice caressed
kissed to life
loved into light
a blink
her eyes wet
open to shades
of early morning grey
lips salt-slick
breath sucked in
with
a start..
